The town of Bansko is situated at 925 m above sea level in the north-eastern part of Pirin. It is 160 km. south of Sofia. The town was built at the end of the 9th century. There are a lot of landmarks that tourists on vacation may find interesting. Such are - St. Trinity church, which is the biggest church in the area and the Holy Virgin church. There are a lot of museums also which visiting tourists may find interesting. Being one of the biggest ski resorts Bansko offers to skiers exellent ski conditions. Bansko has the best snow record and the longest ski season (15 Dec - 15 May) of all Bulgarian ski resorts.There are a lot of slopes supplied with 44 Technoalpine snow cannons and thus providing exellent ski conditions so that tourist on holiday may enjoy snow for a longer period of time. The total length of the marked ski runs is 65 kilometers. There are regular bus lines to Blagoevgrad, Razlog, Goce Delchev and Sofia. There i salso and train station in Bansko.
